The complexity and detail to what extent numerical simulations are exploited at this point in time make it inevitable, that the simulation tools are developed beyond their pure application in one singular simulation discipline. Consequently, there is a high demand for more multi-physics capabilities in the software tools. LS-DYNA moved decisively in this direction in recent years. The goal of this presentation is to give an overview on the current status of these developments and to present example problems that illustrate their applicability to selected engineering problems.
