This Paper describes the process analysis cycle of hang-on parts during product/process development phases. The activity prescribes a thermo-mechanical simulation on automotive manufacturing process chain for new generation of hang-on parts: assembly process, BIW mounting process and painting oven. Thermo-mechanical process analysis shows and evaluates possible deformations of automotive components caused by stamping process stress, hamming process and thermal cycles. Process simulation allows to predict of distortion in hang-on parts caused by assembly process chain, increase the accuracy and generates a robust design of automotive structural components.
