caMe stands for Computer Aided Medical Engineering. The objective is to establish the technologies of CAE-simulation in medical applications to plan surgeries on the computer screen. Together with medical doctors and engineers we want to identify medical applications, where CAE simulation can bring a benefit for the surgeon and for the patient. For these applications we want to develop software tools and want to define standards to perform such simulations.
Therefore we will establish a caMe-Board, which consists of medical doctors and engineers. The ideas and visions of the caMe-Initiative is presented in this session by supporters of the caMe-Board.
The final caMe-Board is not founded yet. With this session we want to motivate interested people to take part in the caMe-Initiative and to take part in the caMe-Board. The official first caMe-Board-Meeting will be in 2014.
